A rare black tea from India's forgotten tea region Kumaon. The abundant golden tips in this organic tea produce a robust full-bodied brew. The deep copper infusion produces a complex flavor suggesting tobacco and plums. Brisk but not bitter, this is a satisfying breakfast tea that holds up well to cream and honey.

Located in the Himalayan mountains in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, is Kumaon. Tea was first planted by the British in this region in the 1850s but since there was no port and the terrain was too treacherous to export the tea, it was abandoned. Tea continued to grow in the wild until the 1990's when the Indian government established programs to revive the tea industry in the region.
