A pleasant highland black tea from the hills of Meghalaya. The tightly rolled dark brown leaves produce an amber color liquor with a smoky burnt sugar taste. The fresh highland air infuses with the tea leaves giving them a refined taste with some astringency to the mouthfeel.

--

Umsning Highland Black is made from a blend of Assamica and Darjeeling varietals grown in the border villages between Assam and Meghalaya. The prolonged roasting using indigenous local wood gives a fruity and smoky aroma to the dry and wet leaves. Due to the presence of Assam cultivar the liquor has a robust and enhanced malty taste.
Folklore Tea is a home-grown project from Assam India and is an association of the small tea growers in the oldest tea growing region of India.  It cooperates with the small artisanal farmers in crafting exquisite teas in their backyard garden to sustain the timeless flavors, and concoct newer varieties, based on their years of expertise.
