A truly irresistible cup awaits: this smooth, rich tea brews a flavor unlike any other. Luscious notes of honey-like sweetness and spiced fruit linger on the palate, complemented by a creamy, silky mouthfeel. A harmony of oolong's entrancing aroma and the finest black teas' full-bodiedness, this tea also makes a remarkable cold brew.
Developed by the Taiwan Tea Research and Extension Station, Red Oolong is a relatively new tea developed in 2008. The production process requires baking at 70°C for 8 hours and the tea is oxidized to 90%, making it very close to a black tea. Our Red Oolong is made from the Chin Shin Varietal and is grown in the Alishan tea area in Chiayi, Taiwan, which is 700-900 meters above sea level. |
