Each cup takes you on a journey; its deep peach color morphs into copper with each silky infusion as it coats your tongue with the flavors of dried oregano, spring peas, and sweet starchy vegetables. Enjoy the delightful lingering finish and the fragrance of spring rain in the forest.

Lǎo chá tóu (老茶头 old tea head) is formed as a byproduct of the shu tea "wet piling" process. Tea leaves at the bottom center of the pile are inundated with tea juices and the heat generated by fermentation causes the wet leaves to slowly cook and fuse into chunky funky cakes of tea. The chunks range in size from 5 to 20+ grams each. Like regular tea cakes, you can break them up with a pick to get the amount you desire for your brew.
