Let your soul take flight! One sip of this heavenly oolong tea and you'll feel transported. Richly dark, delicately twisted leaves give off a floral scent that dances on the tongue. The flavor is sophisticated and sublime, without being overly sweet. Its balanced profile is an absolute delight - the lingering aftertaste is heavenly. Best served Gong Fu-style, this tea's flavor develops more and more with every steep.

Ba Xian is a Dan Cong Oolong from Feng Huang in Guandong province, China. The name means literally "Eight Immortals" and refers to characters in Chinese mythology. The leaves are harvested from a strain of trees that have been selected for careful breeding as straight trunk trees. These trees have a single trunk that rises straight up and the branches form an umbrella, making harvesting the leaves particularly difficult. Pickers use tall ladders or must climb the trees to harvest the long leaves.

Phoenix Mountain in northern Guangdong Province is renowned for its distinctive oolong tea production method. Tea farmers cultivate single groves to mimic specific fruit and flower fragrances, resulting in some of the most captivating and complex flavor profiles in the world.

One unique aspect of Phoenix Mountain teas is the "Dan Zhu" (single tree) processing style. This means that every batch comes from a single tree, ensuring that the tea's flavor profile is entirely consistent and never blended with other trees. In contrast, teas from larger or younger trees are often picked and blended before processing, which yields single varietals but not Dan Cong.

This dedication to quality and uniqueness has earned Phoenix Mountain oolongs a reputation for being some of the most exceptional in the world.
