This delicious oolong from JhenTea has a slightly roasted character similar to a Tieguanyin. It has a beautiful honey colored liquor and a flavor reminiscent of toasted hazelnuts with a hint of cinnamon. A warming delight that is sure to please.
Fourth generation tea master Ai Fang has crafted this tea from the cultivar, Si Ji Chun, or "Four Seasons Spring". Unlike other varietals which can only produce tea 2-3 times a year, Si Ji Chun is constantly flushing, as if forever in springtime, hence the name Forever Spring. The tea that it produces is delicate and sweet with a lovely floral aroma. The additional roasting creates a tea that is more similar in processing to a traditional Tung Ting.
The tea was grown by Yen Hwai Li, who shares the commitment to sustainable farming practices with Fu Chen and Ai Fang. The garden is located in Zhushan which is a low elevation area with high humidity. It can be challenging to use sustainable methods here but he is committed to growing tea without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The purity of the leaves is evident in the final product. |
